We’re Closer Pets…and we’re here to keep you close to your pet, wherever life takes you! We’ve been proudly bringing pets and owners together since 1986, under the Cat Mate, Dog Mate, and Fish Mate brands. In 2021, we decided to take everything these brands stand for and bring them together under a fresh new name: Closer Pets. We aim to offer a more personal experience – while supporting the longstanding trust we’ve built over the last 30 years.

How did we get our start?

We were founded in 1986 in the UK by Chris and Barbara Kirk and actually launched one of the first and most successful automated pet feeders.

What makes our products unique?

Our range of products include feeders with ice packs and stainless steel bowl options, doors that are controlled with your pet’s implanted RFID microchip or a collar worn ID disc, and BPA free pet fountains designed and manufactured in the UK.
