How to Train your dog
Step 1
Hang the dog doorbell on the doorknob, and let your dog get used to the doorbell by smelling and touching it. Point to the doorbell and say touch, and when your dog rings the doorbell, praise and give him/her a treat. Repeat the above behavior a few times to let your dog understand that this is for communication instead of playing.
Step 2
The second step is to open the door when your dog rings the training bell. Take your dog outside, praise and give him/her a treat again, repeat a few times and your dog will associate the bell with “outside”.
Step 3
Leash your dog, and after step 2 guide your dog to the area where you want him/her to potty and once it is finished, reward with his/her favorite treat and lots of praise. After a few repetitions, your dog will develop the habit of ringing the doorbell before potty.
