OUR STORY

Benefit Pet, which started as Benefit Biscuits, was founded in 2016 by Chris, Marissa, and Nick, as college students attending the University of Portland. What originally started as a school project, quickly grew into something more—the team realized the potential of their product and put their noses to the grindstone, selling their treats at farmers markets in Oregon. They soon expanded outside the capacity of their home kitchen and partnered with a local baker to help bake the treats.

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY

Our manufacture shares similar core values of smile, quality, transparency, and a commitment to creating a lasting positive effect in the community. Our baking partner runs a program with their local high school to provide tangible work experience for teenagers with disabilities and learning differences. This program allows students to manage work responsibilities and develop baking skills—but most importantly, bolsters their confidence in the workplace.
